The B-2 bombers, which traveled from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, made their passes over Pasadena throughout the day. Appearing first over the Rose Parade in the morning and later above the Rose Bowl Stadium ahead of the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal game, the legendary aircraft, one of the most advanced in the U.S. Air Force's fleet, drew the attention from enthusiasts and spectators across the country. Following the B-2 fleets grounding in 2023, where it was replaced temporarily by two B-1 bombers, the 2025 flights mark the second year of New Year's Day stealth bomber's return.
"The opportunity to photograph such incredible aircraft is always an honor," said Mark Holtzman, President of West Coast Aerial Photography Inc. “Flying on New Year’s Day and trying to capture the B-2 flyovers at both the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl is one of my favorite annual traditions. The pilots of the B-2 did an outstanding job, and it was exciting to be able capture the moment and share these images with them!”
