In an effort to deal with the "massive cargo surge" at the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach, America's largest two ports by volume, both ports have expanded the hours trucks can pick up and return containers, in an effort to address the historic backlog of container ships of the coast. The pandemic has impacted global supply chains, which struggle to process the backlog of shipping containers and cargo ships arriving at the ports.
Hopefully there will be less ships anchored off the coast the next time I fly over the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach.
