A Photo Finish
Friday July 15th was Opening Day at the Del Mar Racetrack. Over 40,000 fans were expected to attend, participating and spectating in Del Mar's annual Opening Day Hats Contest, where entrants compete for cash prizes and are judged on their creativity and style. Race 1 (pictured above), open to 3 year olds and up, saw Accelerant edge out Hadfunlastnight for the win (pictured below) and a $24,725 purse.
